About Jiinkinkids

Jiinkinkids began forming in 2005 and has started to come into it’s “own” this year! I am Stephanie Wise, illustrator and photographer. I own and operate Jiinkinkids and absolutely love designing! I’ve done design work for institutions such as:

Los Angeles County Museum of Art
Society for Asian Art
Elderhostel
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
CU Art Museum
Archaeological Institue of America
The Denver Botanic Gardens
The Santa Barbara Museum of Art
The World Affairs Council of Los Angeles
The World Affairs Council of San Francisco
University of Colorado, Boulder
California State University, Long Beach

...but my favorite art of all is for children! I am in heaven when I am designing art for children! I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed it until I dove in “head first”.

I came up with the name Jiinkinkids after using the word Jiinkin in my regular vocabulary for several years. Jiinkin is a Mongolian word that means “real, true, actual, authentic & genuine.” I learned this word while living in Outer Mongolia in the ‘90’s and never gave it up. It seemed like a natural extension of my world to use this word to describe art for children. Especially with my special line of adoption art, it seems to just fit.

The adoption art that Jiinkinkids offers is inspired by my own journey of adoption. My husband and I began the process of adopting a baby girl from China in 2005 and are still waiting for her to come home. I started creating art to go in my daughter’s nursery and then decided to offer my designs to other adoptive families! It is hard to find quality wall art for children, especially for adoptive families. I hope the art that I have created brings joy to all of your children and to you!

I hope you enjoy your visit at Jiinkinkids! Please check back often. We plan on expanding our products in the near future!
